Easter 2010

I wish for you a most happy and blessed Easter, and I hope that your celebration of our Lord’s resurrection will be filled with joy.

It was my son, Jonathan Butterworth, who first introduced me to blogging. He and his wife have come to visit his mother and me for Easter, and he suggested yet another “stretch” for me: the use of video. So, I gave it a try. I hope you will have to time to watch the following Easter greeting.

The liturgical year provides a rhythm for living our lives that stands as an altenative to the broader culture’s pattern for defining time. We all live by the culture’s calendar, of course, with its so-called holidays. But if we allow the liturgical year to give shape to our passage through time, it will also give shape to our identity.

May God bless you during this Easter season with a renewed sense of hope because of Jesus Christ. And may we all be formed ever more fully into the people of God.

Wow! That was an awesome message Ike. Thanks for posting. Funny how we as parents listen and begin to rely on our children’s advice. Not sure exactly when our roles changed, but it is indeed a blessing to have such inspiring children. Happy Easter to you and the family~

    • Linda, I probably wouldn’t have done the video without JIB’s encouragement — for several reasons (lack of technical proficiency for one!). Thanks for checking in. I hope that you and your family have a happy Easter as well.

  2. SHARON HARTMAN SHARED YOUR EASTER MESSAGE WITH ME. AS ALWAYS, YOUR MESSAGE WAS AN ENCOURAGING BLESSING TO ME AND PEGGY. WE LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVING MORE OF YOUR VIDEO MESSAGES. AS I TOLD SOMEONE RECENTLY, IF I WERE NOT SO EMBEDDED IN FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, I WOULD BE ATTENDING YOUR CHURCH.

MAY THE LORD RICHLY BLESS YOUR MINISTRY

    AS ALWAYS
